Opened the tin expecting the usual mushy texture, but these cockles are surprisingly firm and plump. The garlic oil clings to each one just right, and it's perfect sopped up with a bit of bread.
The garlic oil is rich without overpowering the cockles, and each bite tastes like a little piece of the coast. I've already ordered another tin to keep in the pantry for when I need something special but effortless.
